Keswick Hall

Misfit Toys Communications was entrusted with the comprehensive branding refresh and public relations strategy for Keswick Hall, a cherished resort in Charlottesville, Virginia, undergoing a remarkable transformation. From the inception of this project, our team meticulously curated every guest touchpoint, from branding elements to the selection of linens, guest notepads, and pens, ensuring that the essence and aesthetic of Keswick Hall were cohesively represented.

Our multi-phased, multi-year approach began with a strategic prelaunch phase, meticulously peeling back the layers of the resort’s story to give each element its moment in the spotlight from the hotel's exquisite design, the championship golf offerings, the rejuvenating spa, or the celebrity chef-helmed restaurant, every facet was given individual attention with media, industry and guests.

Misfits crafted and disseminated the announcement of the hotel's Jean-Georges restaurant, generating excitement and anticipation. We developed a monthly email communication strategy to provide exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses of the renovation, keeping potential guests and media engaged with the transformation journey. Our branding efforts extended to developing branded OS&E (Operating Supplies and Equipment) items, copywriting for the property’s website, and providing design direction for the in-room television directory. Additionally, we created recruitment advertising social posts to attract top talent, further enhancing the guest experience.

The eventual opening of Keswick Hall was met with resounding acclaim. We secured feature story coverage in prestigious publications such as Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, Robb Report, Elite Traveler, Forbes, The New York Times, USA Today, and more. These placements not only highlighted the resort's transformation but also solidified its reputation as one of the finest luxury resorts on the East Coast. Marigold by Jean-Georges quickly gained recognition as one of the country’s best new restaurants, adding to the resort's allure.

Through our strategic and holistic approach, Misfit Toys Communications not only successfully rebranded and relaunched Keswick Hall but also ensured that every detail, from the grand design to the smallest guest amenity, contributed to an exceptional and cohesive guest experience.
