When partners look to procure PR, not everyone is ready for primetime. It’s Marissa’s job to get them there.

With over 25 years of experience in consumer marketing and media strategy, Marissa has held executive roles at esteemed boutique and global agencies, including DKC, Ketchum, and The Door. She has built and revitalized hundreds of brands across diverse sectors such as consumer products, fitness, startups, Fintech, travel, hospitality, CPG, food & beverage, beauty, and non-profit.

Marissa specializes in crafting strategic go-to-market plans and media relations programs, grounded in realistic coverage potential. She works closely with clients to develop brand promises that are worthy of ink, clicks, views, and likes. Her expertise extends to devising brand ethos, designing social/influencer strategies, directing brand aesthetics, brokering strategic partnerships, and executing experiential programs.

Before co-founding Misfit Toys Communications, Marissa served as Managing Director at The Door, where she managed strategy, client relations, and business development for a roster of over 100 clients. Her leadership resulted in a 40% month-over-month growth, laying the groundwork for a major acquisition.

Marissa's ability to prepare partners for primetime, whether across all channels or a single one, is predicated on the most effective and efficient go-to-market plans built together. In her spare time, Marissa enjoys spending time with her influencer pooch, @inspirationaldoggomom, inspired by her former paralyzed dachshund in a bada** wheelchair or bench pressing things at the gym.
